Here's our advice for long distance moves:

If you've never moved long-distance before, congratulations! We hope your move brings you to new opportunities in your life journey!

We're the kind of long-distance movers that strive to make sure everything goes clearly, easily, and that you're actually able to enjoy the ride. Investing in a professional long-distance moving crew is vital for a big jump into the next chapter.

Over the years we've come up with a nice list of tips and tricks for long-distance moves in particular:

  • Invest in nice boxes and make sure they're well padded inside. That's your first insurance!

  • We do provide standard insurance for all long-distance moves, but we certainly recommend Full Protection if you can afford the investment

  • Keep your personal stuff on you or in your personal vehicle: you know phone, keys, wallet, jewelry, weapons, etc. If that's packed away deep in the truck, it'll be hard to get to if you need to. So keep it on you!

  • Food and drink: the truck isn't a good place for food. It can spoil, spill on your stuff, or it will attract rodents. We recommend putting all your fridge items in a cooler in your car. No need to through it all out.

  • Label Your Boxes!: it feels good and sets you up for clear-headedness and easy organization. You'll thank yourself next week!

  • Make sure your movers know everything about the move!: stairwells? 4 floors up? 2 grand pianos? Hard to find on GPS? Make sure all of those details are spoken of with your mover before you get started.

Long-Distance Move Quoting Process

As with any move, long-distance or otherwise, we'll need to know the origin and destination. For Long-distance, this is of particular importance for an accurate quote, since there's quite a bit of driving involved, as you can imagine.

After that, we need to get an accurate sense of how much stuff there is, simply put. We'll do an estimate for boxes, totes, trucks, etc.

Long distance moves definitely need nice boxes that are well packed, and we don't want to be scratching our heads with too much stuff on moving day. We'll make sure that doesn't happen.

Other than that, the quoting process is straight-forward, just like our local movers quoting process. We recommend giving us a call for an in-home/on-site quote (if you're here in Greensboro). If not, phone or the quote form on our site will do just fine.
